K7Antivirus includes antivirus, anti-spyware and email protection. You can select what type of threats you want K7Antivirus to detect: viruses, worms, Trojans, spyware, dialers, network access, adware, joke programs, or hacker tools. You can select different system areas to scan: memory, boot sectors, partition tables, and autorun.inf files.
It comes in two downloadable versions: the first has a pre-installed scanner that includes an .iso image that can be burned on a new CD to scan your system from the startup. The second version is the Desktop Edition that installs K7Antivirus as a real-time protection antivirus on your computer. If you choose to install K7Antivirus as a real-time protection, you need to be sure that you've uninstalled other antivirus applications because they may conflict. You can specify the action to take on detecting a virus. Spyware and adware detection is set on by default. You can perform manual scan or schedule scans at specific times - daily, weekly, monthly, or customized. Scan tasks can be executed silently on the background, and you can allow non-admin users to stop the scan and take action on the reported files.
